Morungole on the East, Mt. Moroto to the North East, Iriir/Alekilek hill from the North East and Lake Albert from Sout h west.

Mt. Moroto Hikings and Trekking

Karamoja is endowed with beautiful undiscovered mountains and hills, the hiking and trekking to Mt, Moroto takes you through a small minority group of people called the the tepeth who are believe to be the first inhabitants of the karamoja terrain and are known for agriculture and beer keeping as their main activity and they recently intermarried with the karimojong pastoral communities hence losing their original language
On the two day hiking and camping we reach to the summits varying between 200m-300m. Basing on how feat we are during that hike, we can go further than that.
We start the day with a gentle climb before reaching the campsite. For lunch we stop half way and then continue through a beautiful Tepeth valley. We then follow the trail as it passes through a steep ascent towards.
Mt. Moroto is considered as the gateway of the region. It is a beautiful town with numerous amenities available for trek. These include a laundry, equipment, internet, banks.
